Order Picking Selection Tool Guides Users to Customized Solution

HOUSTON (August 15, 2011) - Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA) today debuts the "Order Picking Solutions from Jungheinrich" product selector tool, designed to help warehouse professionals select the right forklift equipment for their application. Choosing the right order picker for the job is a crucial component to the success of a distribution center or warehouse. While factors such as order picking method, warehouse layout and aisle size impact overall productivity, lift truck equipment also plays a major factor. According to a recent study released by the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), order picking accuracy and efficiency are some of the most important operational performance metrics used by warehouse professionals when evaluating their supply chain performance.

"In a tight economy, choosing the wrong equipment can have serious financial ramifications," said Perry Ardito, general manager of the Jungheinrich Warehouse Product Group at MCFA. The Order Picking Solutions tool guides customers through a series of short questions regarding the customer's specific needs, including capacity, aisle width, picking height, required shifts and picking type. Based on the answers, the tool provides a recommended forklift solution for the customer to consider. Once a result is revealed, customers can view in-depth information about the chosen lift truck.
